Historical Background:
In accordance with procedures
to provide public access to all records of naturalization records filed
in the Office of County Clerk. With change in procedures and format
in 1906, the separate index was abandoned in favor of self-contained indexing
for each
volume.
Description of Record Series:
Bound volumes (12 x 14")
of handwritten, alpabetically-arranged listing of applicants for naturalization
and containing: name, book/volume, type (initial or final), and page number.
Volume covers Naturalization Register, Volumes 1, 2 and 4, however not
all entries in Volume 4
are recorded in this index. There is also a computer generated index to
Volumes 3 & 4.
Purpose of Record:
Defined as an guide for facilitating access to naturalization proceedings conducted by Warren County courts.
